Electronic Recycling – November 22nd

E-waste Recycling (LESEC)

UPDATED: Today (November 22nd) we will be hosting an Electronics Recycling Event at the 92nd Street Greenmarket on First Avenue between 93rd & 94th Streets (west side of First Avenue).

Electronic waste is a growing source of toxic materials entering our waste stream and there are many valuable metals in electronic equipment that can be recycled. By separating e-waste from normal trash, we can reduce harmful toxic chemicals from entering our eco-system and reduce the need to mine for new metals.

Please help spread the word. Please pick-up posters at the local Greenmarkets to put up in your building this weekend.

Here are the details:
DATE: Sunday, November 22, 2009
TIME: 8 a.m. to 3 PM
PLACE: First Avenue between 93rd & 94th Streets (west side of the First Ave)

We will be collecting cell phones, computers, laptops, copiers, fax machines, IPods and PDAs, modems, monitors, keyboards, mouses, printers, stereo and radio equipment, telephones and telephone equipment, televisions, typewriters, speakers, digital cameras, VCRs and DVD players.

All e-waste collected will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner here in the U.S.
