Upper East Side Air Quality Forum
We’ve all seen the headlines: the Upper East Side is home to some of the most polluted air in New York City.
Now its time to do something about it.
Upper Green Side is helping to organize a Community Board 8 forum on our neighborhood’s air quality on Monday June 7th at 6:30 pm at the Hunter College School of Social Work (129 E. 79th Street between Lex and Park) that will focus on how cost-effective heating oil strategies can help make a difference.
Panelists include:
- Dr. Thomas Matte, past Director of Environmental Research, NYC Deptartment of Health & Mental Hygiene
- Isabelle Silverman, Legal Fellow, Environmental Defense
- David Kuperberg, CEO, Cooper Square Realty, Inc.
Come learn about how your building can switch to a cost-effective cleaner grade of heating oil that will emit less pollution and improve our air quality!

I have Gulf War Syndrome which makes me extremely sensitive to air quality. I can’t breath whenever it’s humid or people are burning fields in the country where we live. Anything that can be done to improve air quality will benefit everyone for generations to come.
